Our organic damiana leaf is harvested in the mountains of Mexico where it has traditionally been infused to make damiana tea. Damiana has a long history of use in age old healing modalities for its healthful properties and loving spirit. Although its noted effect on sexual desire has been its primary historical use across cultures, it has also been valued for its relaxing and calming effects. Additionally, damiana leaf has been employed to support the daily functioning of the digestive system, as a tonic, support during mid-life hormonal fluctuation regardless of gender (it definitely eases the inner critic and feisty outward expression we feel during these time), and is great as a simple, enjoyable beverage.*
Typical preparations of damiana leaves include in tea blends, herbal smoking mixtures, infused as a liquor often with ceremonial cacao paste, or macerated as damiana extract (tincture) infused honey or syrups.
