Kava kava is a traditional herb of the Pacific Islands that has a fascinating and somewhat mysterious history tracing back over 3,000 years. It was often brewed with spices such as, cinnamon and ginger, in coconut milk and taken ceremonially in groups.
Kava kava root tincture is quite pungent in flavor and produces an initially numbing sensation on the tongue, which then fades. It can be combined with other botanical extracts such as passionflower extract to enhance the healthful benefits. Kava can be taken on the tongue but is more palatable and effective way is warm coconut milk or something with fat as this helps assimilate and potentiate some of the compounds.
